Meet Dr. Alisa Lewis
I completed my BA degree in Psychology from the University of California at Santa Cruz. My first passion was working with children and families, and I began my work experience as a front-line counselor in a group home in San Francisco.
Wanting more clinical education, I moved to New York City to complete my Master’s Degree in Social Work at NYU. There I had the honor to work with Holocaust survivors, Russian immigrants, and the elderly doing home-based case management and mental health counseling.
I then moved to Washington DC, where received my PhD in Clinical Social Work. While there I worked with people diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, members of the LGBTQ community and those dually diagnosed with mental health disorders and addictions for over 10 years. My last five years in Washington were a combination of work in my private practice and The World Bank Group, assisting adults in managing and improving symptoms of anxiety, depression, addressing diversity issues, relationship issues and life transitions.
